THE ROLE:
Be part of a high-performance global logistics team that handles freight movement across our multiple sites and shipment to our global end customers. The team is part of AMD's supply chain and works with all our global shipping sites on shipment quality matters. We work closely with other Supply Chain stakeholders, and external parties like freight forwarders, couriers and 3PL warehouse. This role focuses on ensuring shipment escalations are investigated with corrective actions implemented and buy-in from the sites. This is a key role for AMD's quarter end as the candidate will chair status meetings with all sites and stakeholders to ensure our revenue commit is met.

The candidate must have strong operations skills with actual work experience to showcase. Independent and resourceful in resolving different shipment queries/issues while working in a team culture. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Freight operations support and investigation for shipment quality issues
- (90% air freight, 9% trucking, 1% ocean freight)
- Work with global shipping sites, quality, IT, security and external stakeholders (forwarders/agents), etc to investigate and resolve escalated shipment issues
- Eg: documentation, cargo damage, discrepancies, etc
- Respond promptly to stakeholders and close escalated cases within timeline
- Service recovery
- Containment of escalations and conflict resolution
- Investigation
- Manage performance of 3PL transportation team and freight providers
- Ensure agreed corrective actions, service standards and KPIs met
- Initiate and follow up on enhancement requests (operations and systems)
- Error prevention
- Lookout for potential misses and work with shipping sites/carriers on preventive or corrective actions
- Preparation of shipment reports
- Able to define and create own template for reporting purpose instead of relying on pre-set templates
- Work with different stakeholders for ad-hoc projects relating to freight, supply chain operations, quality, etc
- Chair monthly KPI meetings with global sites and carriers
- Chair quarter end meetings with global sites and various AMD internal stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
- Min 3 years work experience in similar capacity
- Air freight operations support experience
- Working knowledge of shipping documents preparation and incoterms
- Comfortable to chair meetings with 3PL warehouse, freight providers and global stakeholders
- Independent, responsible, resourceful and fast learner with a sense of urgency
- Strong command of English to engage US/Europe stakeholders via meetings, emails and calls.
- Must be able to support full day on quarter end day (1 Saturday every quarter), chairing status meetings with stakeholders, till AMD revenue close at end of day.
GOOD TO HAVE:
- Diploma/Degree in related field – Actual work experience is valued over paper qualifications.
- Working experience in a logistics firm handling air freight or managing semi-con customer accounts
- Knowledge of SAP system
- IT savvy and embraces new technology
- Able to start work within short notice
