Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Systems Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design a complete and complex framework, system or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Perform silicon debug and silicon validation with prototype boards. Drive system (CPU) build debug of problematic systems. Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.

Position requires experience in the following:
- Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification;
- Performing hardware verification;
- Verilog, System Verilog, or UVM;
- Logic and circuit design;
- CMOS transistor design;
- RTL Design and coding;
- Back-End (physical design) EDA tools and Front-End EDA tools;
- C, C++, Perl, or Python; and
- ASIC design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis).
Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
