SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER  

 Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and versatile DevOps Engineer to join our Armenia-based team. In this role, you will support internal development teams by managing build systems, resolving infrastructure issues, maintaining tools, and improving overall DevOps workflows across Linux, Windows, and virtual environments. You'll play a key part in ensuring smooth development operations and efficient user support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor system resources and infrastructure, track storage, LSF/HPC Grid, and build tool status.
2. Maintain test frameworks and ensure builds and regressions run correctly across Linux and Windows environments.
3. Provide hands-on IT and DevOps support for developers, resolving environment, system, and tool-related issues.
4. Support Windows laptop setup and troubleshooting, including reimaging and coordinating with IT when needed.
5. Manage virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and access permissions using tools like XenCenter.
6. Facilitate onboarding of new hires, ensuring timely access to systems and resolving setup issues.
7. Document processes, tools, and configurations, maintaining internal guides, onboarding docs, and troubleshooting tips.
8. Support CoPilot and containerized Development Environments adoption across Armenia developers
9. Build and install developer-requested tools, libraries, and third-party applications; escalate when necessary.
10. Support build system transitions, including migration from RDI to Gradle and ongoing Gradle infrastructure maintenance.
11. Troubleshoot and resolve Gradle-related issues, providing temporary workarounds and coordinating fixes with relevant teams.
12. Install, configure, and maintain web servers (Apache, Flask) on developer systems, including firewall setup.
13. Coordinate across teams to request access, sync resources, and resolve permission-related blockers.
14. Write and maintain automation scripts (Bash/Python) for system tasks and internal documentation updates.
15. Communicate proactively via Slack and other channels, keeping users informed about DevOps changes, issues, and solutions.

Requirements

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Linux (CentOS, RHEL) and Windows systems.
• Experience with build systems such as Gradle and RDI.
• Scripting experience (Bash, Python).
• Familiarity with web server configuration (Apache, Flask).
• Understanding of firewall setup and network configuration.
• Experience with virtualization tools (e.g., XenCenter, VDIs).
• Comfortable setting up and monitoring system resources.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proactive, organized, and responsive to team needs.

Nice to Have

• Experience with FPGA tools (e.g., Vivado).
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and internal documentation tools.
• Prior experience in DevOps support roles for development-focused teams.
