THE ROLE:

The Senior Technical Program Manager will lead strategic initiatives that strengthen AMD's technical influence and open‑source ecosystem. This role serves as a key interface between AMD's technical leadership and Business team to drive high‑impact programs that showcase AMD's innovation.

 

THE PERSON:

Finally, act as AMD technical influence program manager: a decisive leader who owns AMD's technical influence programs, partnering China R&D Center Site Leader (GM), and the site leadership team to deliver impactful open‑source initiatives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define AMD's technical influence strategy for China—set objectives, success metrics, and program portfolio; align with technical leadership and site priorities.
  • Partnership with Greater China Marketing/Business teams to drive AMD technology and product showcases.
  • Advance AMD's open‑source technology initiatives (e.g., ROCm components), including contribution strategy, upstream collaboration, and community engagement to accelerate adoption.
  • Lead initiative programs internally & external for China AI impacts through activities including Open-course, developer competition, etc.
  • Collaborate internal AI, SW and other engineering teams to support the AI/ROCm developer ecosystem, including university/partner/industry association engagement, etc.
  • Establish program governance—define milestones, risks, and KPIs; run agile cadences; maintain transparent status for technical leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive cross‑functional execution across engineering, design, product, operations; unblock dependencies, negotiate trade‑offs, and secure resources for critical paths.
  • Curate and summarize technical showcases & external engagements (incl. demos, hackathons, technical strengths, promotion summaries etc.)

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Solid experience in program/project management. Management experience preferred.
  • Technical developer ecosystem or customers engagement experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated one functional team leadership success track record.
  • Proactive and execution focused.
  • Skilled in developing and sustaining positive interpersonal Relationships, stakeholder engagement, conflict management, etc.
  • Executive report and summary proficiency.
  • A track record of creativity and innovation in solutions.
  • Action and results-orientation with the ability to make decisions effectively.
  • High level of proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, Power point), and in data manipulation, analysis and presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS or MSEE Degree with minimum 10 ~15 years related working experience
  • MBA desirable
