Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE

We're seeking a Sr. Product Manager to define and drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution for firmware, BIOS, and driver components that power AMD's GPU software stack. This role focuses on ensuring seamless compatibility and performance across the firmware, BIOS, kernel-mode drivers, user-space components, ROCm, and AI software ecosystem. You'll enable robust integration and system stability from low-level hardware initialization through to AI and HPC workloads running at scale.

The person in this role acts as the bridge between hardware engineering, driver and firmware teams, and software developers, ensuring cross-layer coherence and exceptional platform reliability. This is a high-impact role ideal for a technically deep product leader passionate about system software, hardware-software co-design, and driving innovation in GPU platform enablement for next-generation workloads.

THE PERSON

You're a systems thinker with deep expertise in GPU architecture, firmware and BIOS development, and driver software. You understand the intricate dependencies between hardware bring-up, driver initialization, and runtime behavior. You've shipped developer-facing or platform-enablement products that require precise coordination between firmware, drivers, and higher-level software frameworks. You can translate complex cross-component challenges into actionable engineering priorities and ensure that AMD GPUs operate optimally across diverse configurations, environments, and workloads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the product strategy and roadmap for GPU firmware, BIOS, and driver software, ensuring compatibility and performance across hardware generations and software layers.
  •  Define and manage requirements for cross-stack interoperability between low-level system software and higher-level components such as ROCm, runtimes, and AI frameworks.
  • Partner with hardware, driver, and platform enablement teams to deliver consistent initialization sequences, security compliance, and power/performance optimizations.
  • Drive architectural discussions for firmware/driver interface stability, ensuring backward and forward compatibility across releases.
  • Oversee the integration and validation strategy for firmware, BIOS, and drivers within the broader AMD GPU software stack.
  • Collaborate with quality and validation teams to develop automated compatibility testing, cross-component regression detection, and release qualification pipelines.
  • Manage dependencies across OS kernels, hypervisors, and containerized environments to ensure robust deployments
  • Champion consistency in versioning, packaging, and delivery mechanisms across the GPU software ecosystem. Partner with engineering teams to drive feature prioritization, release planning, and lifecycle management for system software components.
  • Serve as the voice of developers, system integrators, and OEM partners—synthesizing feedback into actionable roadmap priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with the ROCm and platform software teams to ensure firmware and driver interfaces meet the performance and reliability needs of AI, HPC, and graphics workloads.
  • Contribute to go-to-market (GTM) deliverables including technical briefs, release notes, architecture overviews, and partner enablement content.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in product management for firmware, BIOS, drivers, or low-level system software.
  • Strong understanding of GPU architecture, PCIe initialization, power management, and boot-time configuration.
  • Familiarity with firmware and driver development lifecycles, including secure boot flows, UEFI, and microcontroller firmware updates.
  • Knowledge of driver stacks (kernel and user mode), device enumeration, and OS-level integration on Linux and Windows.
  • Experience with ROCm, OpenCL, HIP, or similar heterogeneous compute software frameworks.
  • Understanding of cross-layer debugging, performance validation, and regression tracking across firmware and software boundaries.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across hardware, software, and infrastructure teams.
  • Experience driving cross-functional compatibility initiatives and managing large-scale software releases with multiple dependencies.
  • Strong technical communication skills—capable of translating low-level system insights into strategic product direction.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
