THE ROLE:

We are hiring an engineering leader.  The role is for a Sr. Manager in the Software Engineering GPU Shader Compiler performance team, to be responsible for managing a team of developers in optimizing and testing the compiler on a range of GPU ASICs.

 

THE PERSON

As the Senior Manager, Software Engineering – GPU Shader Compiler Performance team, you will be responsible for managing a team of developers focused on developing functionality and performance tuning of the GPU compiler on a range of GPU ASICs. As the successful candidate, you will have an established background in managing supervising, or leading a large software engineering team, preferably working on compilers and/or 3D graphics in a fast-paced environment. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage an engineering team including mentoring, goal setting and conducting annual performance reviews
  • Work closely with your team to develop enhancements to the compiler software performance, tracking and fixing bugs, and testing drivers to be aligned with key deliverables
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers
  • Understand and present technical status updates to upper managers, peers, and engineer teams
  • Have technical insight to guide priorities and translate the asks into right actions

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Multiple years' experience as a software developer, including experience as a manager in compilers or 3D graphics or CPU/GPU development
  • Undergraduate degree in technical discipline and ideally MS or PhD
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Demonstrated track record of project delivery in a large cross-functional organization
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices in the area of compilers for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS degree; MS or PhD desired
