SR Fellow Silicon Design Engineer

THE ROLE: 

We are seeking a Senior Fellow to join our team to develop world-class products to ensure foundational features and quality that fulfill customer expectations in the networking DPU segment. Chartered with developing a comprehensive understanding of current and future industry trends and position AMD to be the leader in those markets. In this role, you will collaborate with AMD internal and industry team for future research and to influence architecture decisions to secure AMD's platforms across Enterprise market segments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Responsible for the design and architecture of Data Processing Units (DPUs) to meet customer performance and efficiency goals. 
  • Ensures products conform to standards and specifications.  
  • Develops plans and cost estimates and assesses projects to analyze risks.  
  • Responds to customer requests or events as they occur. 
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art security principles, theories, attacks and contributes to literature and conferences   
  • Engage with customers for gathering requirements related to security, develop documentation and training materials   

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • DPU Architecture: Minimum of 5 years of experience in DPU or similar processing unit architecture. 
  • ASIC Design Experience: Strong understanding of ASIC design flow, including RTL design, synthesis, and verification.  
  • Network Acceleration: Proficiency in utilizing DPUs for network acceleration and offloading tasks from CPUs. 
  • Networking Protocols: Proficiency in networking protocols like TCP/IP, Ethernet, and PCIe. 
  • Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud infrastructure components, including compute, storage, and networking.  
  • RDMA Experience: In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with RDMA protocols and how they integrate with DPUs for low-latency and high-throughput applications. 
  • Storage Solutions: Extensive experience in designing and implementing high-performance storage solutions that leverage RDMA for improved data transfer rates. 
  • Machine Learning Cluster Architecture: Proven track record in designing or working with distributed machine learning architectures, ideally with RDMA support for efficient data movement and lower latency.  
  • Innovation: A portfolio of patents, publications, or significant contributions to the field. 
  • Leading and/or influencing silicon design teams, peers and managers
  • Standout colleague, ability to work in cross-site and matrix environments

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:   

  • MS or Ph.D degree in related discipline preferred

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
