THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer with 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing robust data solutions. You should have deep expertise in ETL processes, SQL, Python, and data modeling, as well as hands-on experience working with distributed storage systems (e.g., Snowflake). Proficiency in SSAS or similar tools is a plus. Proficiency in Apache Airflow for job orchestration is required. Knowledge of Apache Camel and Java is preferred but not required. You must be comfortable collaborating with business stakeholders to translate their needs into technical solutions while maintaining high standards for performance and scalability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and performance.
- Build robust ETL processes that integrate diverse data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, Google Bigquery) and deliver high-quality datasets to downstream consumers.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design and implement advanced data models and architectures, ensuring alignment with AMD's long-term goals.
- Optimize existing data pipelines and infrastructure for improved performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Lead the development of API integrations and support complex data requirements from Data Science, Business Intelligence, and other teams.
- Leverage SSAS or similar tools to enhance data modeling and analytics capabilities where applicable.
- Write and maintain Apache Airflow DAGs (Directed Acyclic Graphs) for workflow orchestration.
- Maintain Apache Camel routes and mappings for data integration and transformation tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Big Data Analytics, or a related technical field with 3+ years of relevant experience (5+ years preferred).
- Expertise in SQL and Python or Java for ETL development.
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling, data integration, and performance optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with distributed storage systems (e.g., Snowflake, Hadoop) and big data frameworks (e.g., Spark).
- Proficiency in API development, including RESTful APIs and data streaming.
- Experience with workflow management tools such as Airflow or equivalent.
- Java is preferred as a programming skill but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with SSAS or similar analytical tools is a plus.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub).
- Knowledge of web parsing tools such as Scrapy or Selenium.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and performance tuning techniques.
- Exposure to multidimensional modeling or tabular model development.
- Proficiency in Java for ETL development and integration tasks.
- Experience with Apache Camel for designing and maintaining data routes and mappings.
