THE ROLE:  

The Datacenter Graphics and Accelerated Computing (DCGPU) organization is excited to hire an individual that can provide leadership for driving datacenter code deliverables internally and to external customers. The candidate should have skills related to doing complex builds and providing packages that will be consumed by the team, for validation and delivery on aggressive schedules.  The candidate should have expertise in debugging and root causing issues related to firmware code. Additionally, you will need to provide clear and concise information related to deliverables, including features enabled, fixes incorporated, and any known issues/workarounds.  Communication in an open manner with external customers as well key program level executives will be part of the job.  

 

THE PERSON:  

We are looking for a motivated individual that has the required experience to step in and work on an integrated delivery of code for Data Center GPU product. You will be able to handle technical explanation of deliverables and communicate clearly. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Driving technical innovation to improve AMD's capabilities across validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives
  • Debugging issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of Data Center GPU programs
  • Working with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time
  • Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks
  • Leading a collaborative approach with multiple teams

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Minimum 10 years experience in validation consiting of debug, benchmarking, software stacks
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Python, shell scripting, Ansible).
  • Jira and Confluence experience
  • Solid programming skills in Python and familiarity with Git
  • Debug techniques and methodologies for debugging firmware/software stacks
  • Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system, RHEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS at a minimum for distros
  • Familiarity with containers such as docker
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Broad knowledge of an IP to IPs that make up computer/gpu architecture that will help in testing / debugging / benchmarking

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
