SMTS FIRMWARE ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
We are looking for an SMTS (Senior Member of Technical Staff) Engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, the SMTS Engineer will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in leading the designs and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.
THE PERSON:
You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead ROM based firmware enabling next generation interconnect and chiplet technologies
- Lead day-to-day firmware development and debug work
- Work closely with multi-functional teams such as design, emulation and verification on delivery of SOC solutions
- Develop low level firmware for embedded systems in a bare metal environment.
- Design robust sequences that are easy to debug and reuse
- Engage in pre-silicon validation activities such as co-simulation with IP and SOC emulation
- Support post– silicon enablement and debug
- Engage with firmware team to drive architectural concepts to maximize reuse
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Multiple prior years of related firmware experience combined with technical education within the semiconductor industry
- Expert level experience producing quality firmware
- Specialist in C, strong in C++ or Python
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
