Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Develop and maintain subsystem verification architecture, testbench, test methodology. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires experience in the following:
- ASIC firmware and hardware design and verification;
- Functional verification of microprocessors;
- System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL;
- C, C++, or Python;
- Standard bus/interface protocols (AXI, AHB, or AMBA);
- Firmware design on commercial microprocessors;
- Microprocessor tool chains, compilers, assemblers, and debuggers; and
- ASIC verification tools.
Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, internship, and/or work experience.
