THE ROLE: AMD is looking for a strategic temporal image analysis engineer who is passionate about finding solutions within the domain of optical flow in computer generated image data content. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is a highly skilled software engineer, with expertise in temporal image analysis. You are team-driven and motivated to do things others might find too difficult. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write code with the goal of identifying and outputting optical flow motion vectors from a sequence of rendered images.
- Proficient in Python for rapid prototyping and testing.
- Ability to work with python in combination with c++, where the output logic is intended for GPU usage.
- Comprehensive understanding of general software development workflows, including version control systems like Git, build automation tools like CMake, and continuous integration (CI) pipelines.
- Proficient in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members and presenting findings or proposals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, engineers, and domain experts to understand requirements, develop prototypes, and deploy production-ready optical flow solutions.
- Document code, methodologies, and findings comprehensively, ensuring reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
- Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on optical flow related concepts, programming techniques, and software development practices to foster skill development and team growth.
- Minimum 2 years of full-time (post grad) experience efficiently creating optical flow related code
- Deep knowledge about data structures, design patterns, language features, standard libraries and writing easy-to-understand code
- Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring robustness and where to focus performance optimization
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with 3D graphics and ray tracing techniques using GPU Compute and popular graphics APIs such as Direct3D, Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenCL, CUDA, and HIP.
- Game engine or game rendering framework experience
