THE ROLE:
This position is responsible for the Customer Quality Debug Interface and Product Quality Management of AMD semi-custom products. This individual serves as the primary contact to the local customers supporting all quality and reliability matters including customer quality issue debug & analysis, quality data analysis, continuous quality improvements, and all customer quality requests. THE PERSON:
You will manage customer-provided product quality data, analyze the failure pareto, summarize FA results, identify issue root cause, and drive quality improvement opportunities/activities. The person will maintain regular communication with the customer, as well as prepare and participate in customer quality meetings. The role allows the opportunity to collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams at AMD. Key cross-functional interfaces for this role include Customer, AMD Client Business unit, AMD Silicon & Package Reliability teams, AMD Design + Product Engineering leadership, AMD Supply Chain, and AMD Sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze product quality data.
 - Track and analyze product quality and reliability data.
 - Analyze RMA data and FA results to identify issue root cause and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement improvements.
 - Collaborate with data analytics team leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) techniques to improve outlier detection.
 - Continuous improvements.
 - Work closely with RMA FA, device analysis, product and test engineering teams utilizing state of the art debug, test, and failure analyses techniques to drive quality improvements.
 - Partner with customers to reproduce customer observations and identify potential improvements.
 - Track improvements implementation in production and monitor effectiveness.
 - Customer support
 - Follow up on all quality matters requested by customers. Utilize 8D process to resolve quality issues.
 - Take the lead as the primary Customer Quality debug interface to identify root cause. Involve quality debug collaboration with customers.
 - Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to resolve manufacturing quality issues.
 - Maintain regular communication with customers to understand their expectations and resolve quality issues.
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Work experience in semi-conductor industry or electronics or any other manufacturing industry in either quality, product engineering, process, packaging, validation, FA-debug, or customer support role.
 - Experience in Semiconductor Product Engineering/Product Test, Platform Validation, Failure Analysis & Debug is strongly preferred.
 - Experience with hardware design, test diagnostics, and CPU/GPU architecture is a plus.
 - Good communication and presentation skills.
 - Fluent in Japanese.
 - Business communication level English.
 
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS/MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or similar.
