THE ROLE: 

Sales Business Partner; Operations and Finance subject matter expert who provides excellence in financial management, cost control and business performance driving segment profitability with insightful financial planning and analysis, reporting and business partnering support​ 

 

THE PERSON:

​​This is a sales support role that acts as a financial and operational expert for the sales team by ensuring data is accurate, analyzing return on investment (ROI), and spotting opportunities to expand market share and boost efficiency. It involves creating clear, straightforward reports for monthly forecasts and annual budgets while collaborating with Sales Managers, Pricing, and Sales Operations to analyze programs that drive sales from start to finish. The role also focuses on maintaining data hygiene, monitoring ROI on initiatives like price adjustments and incentives, and identifying insights to help grow market share and improve operational efficiency. Additionally, it includes working with key partners to optimize funding and ensure that all sales efforts deliver the desired financial outcomes, ultimately providing crucial support to help the business grow and operate more efficiently.​ 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

​​Optimize Funding Allocation, ROI & Cost Efficiency ​ 

  • ​​Collaborate with key business partners to develop clear business cases and logical funding proposals.  
  • ​Establish processes for allocating funding, tracking expenditures, and calculating ROI.  
  • ​Identify cost drivers and streamline spending routes to support sales decisions. 
  • ​Implement frameworks and communication channels to break down silos and integrate vertical and horizontal operations.​ 

 

Enforce Accountability & Robust Approval Processes 

  • Establish clear, structured approval processes for all funding requests.  
  • Develop performance metrics to hold sales staff accountable for their spending.  
  • Set up internal controls to prevent the exploitation of funding loopholes. 
  • Establish a clear delegation of authority that holds users accountable. 

 

Enhance Data Quality, Reporting Insights & Cost Analysis 

  • Develop programs that convert raw data into actionable insights.  
  • Implement reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy between business partners and distributors.  
  • Deploy analytical tools to determine true costs, margins, and provide headcount/productivity analysis linked to growth. 

 

​Financial Reporting & Analysis 

  • ​Accurate reporting of financials and provide insights into opportunities and efficiencies 
  • ​Monthly financial close and financial reporting for respective GAMS 
  • ​Volume, revenue, gross profit (by sub-segment and product category) 
  • ​Costs and Gross Profit 
  • ​Closing P&L tracking, analysis and reporting, investigation 
  • ​Reporting, forecasting and analysis of financial performance including Revenue reduction and cost drivers at the market level 
  • ​Support the Quarterly financial target-setting, at the market segment level, including sales quotas 
  • ​Establish historical performance metrics (example 12 quarter performance by routes, business unit, etc.) 

​​

​​​Business Partnering​ 

  • ​Provide guidance and insights with financial support for ad hoc requests such as Deep dives  
  • ​Collaborate with Sales Operations team to monitor Sell-in, Sell-thru, Sell Out, E2E inventory and on hand weeks of inventory (WOI) analysis.  
  • ​Regular interlocks with sales team and reviews  
  • ​Support business leader to review and analyze the weekly forecast vs actuals 

 

Revenue Reduction and External Stakeholder Management 

  • Revenue reduction budgeting, tracking and end to end management 
  • Manage and measure program performance 
  • Overview of program structure and setup to ensure governance and compliance around Distributor and GAMS 
  • Funding management and Reinvestments 
  • Program Performance reporting with relevant stakeholder 
  • Go to person and advisor for partner programs 
  • Regular interlocks with Distributors and GAMS to ensure deliverables are met 

 

​​Project Management​ 

  • ​​Be the primary subject matter expert and support on relevant projects  
  • ​Establish Commercial and Consumer rebate program controls to ensure data accuracy that will aid with business decision via accurate forecast​

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in management roles within the technology industry, with proven expertise in financial planning & management and sales transformation. Experience within the IT Channel or IT MNC would be advantageous with respect to better understanding our GtM motions and partner mindsets. 
  • Deep financial acumen 
  • Exceptional data analytics, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proven experience in driving operational efficiency and sales performance. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams; “stitching the seams” between different teams with a view to timely delivery of common goals & strategic imperatives. 
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Excel in data manipulation, analysis and presentation. (Experience with Power BI advantageous) 
  • Experience with extracting actionable data from SFDC and associated systems 
  • Experience engaging with MNCs 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
