The Role
AMD is seeking a highly strategic Industry Analyst Relations leader to join our global IAR team. Industry analysts are critical partners in strengthening AMD's reputation and influence in the commercial segment, shaping market perception, and providing insights that inform our most important business decisions.
To support these key goals, this role operates with a high degree of ownership, judgment, and trust. The IAR Manager will serve as both a strategist and tactician —owning end-to-end IAR programs that educate and influence key analysts, shape perspectives on AMD's portfolio and differentiation, and systematically drive external insights back into the business. Working cross-functionally with business units, marketing, sales, strategy, and executive leaders, as well as the communications team, this role ensures analyst engagement directly informs portfolio strategy, go-to-market decisions, competitive positioning, and executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and oversee end-to-end execution of AMD industry analyst relations strategy, translating business priorities into IAR programs that shape market narratives, surface real-time insights, and anticipate opportunities and headwinds.
- Maintain deep understanding of AMD's business, portfolio, and competitive landscape to deliver relevant insights, trends, and research, and recommend effective engagement strategies including inquiries, briefings, and message testing.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing ongoing counsel on IAR best practices, setting clear expectations on impact, timelines, and resourcing, and ensuring alignment across teams.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and data sources to analyze analyst research, inquiry trends, and market signals at scale, translating data into actionable insights for business strategy, messaging, and competitive positioning.
- Partner cross-functionally to integrate analyst insights into the business, including analyst engagement planning, message testing, competitive intelligence, and executive reporting.
- Lead analyst engagement and relationship management, serving as a primary point of contact for inquiries, strengthening long-term relationships, and driving meaningful, well-rounded engagements and outcomes.
- Design and manage analyst education programs, including briefings, onsite engagements, and industry events, to build awareness and understanding of AMD's strategy, roadmap, and differentiation.
- Influence accurate and compelling representation of AMD in analyst research, ensuring inclusion reflects our differentiated value and supports commercial credibility and validation.
- Define success metrics and reporting frameworks that demonstrate the business impact of IAR, enable continuous improvement, and inform experimentation and optimization.
The Necessary Skills
- Proven experience leading B2B industry analyst relations and/or strategic communications programs, with clear ownership and measurable business impact.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with high judgment, autonomy, and accountability in a senior-facing role.
- Direct experience managing complex, multi-faceted AR programs with firms including Gartner, IDC, and Forrester.
- Established track record of building trusted, long-term relationships with industry analysts and influencers.
- Experience counseling senior executives and functional leaders, providing confident, strategic guidance on AR priorities, messaging, and engagement approaches.
- Strong executive presence and comfort working cross-functionally with product, marketing, sales, strategy, communications, and executive leadership.
- Working knowledge of AI technologies and tools, with hands-on experience applying them to improve IAR workflows, insight synthesis, reporting, and decision-making.
- Ability to cut through complexity and noise, identify meaningful signals, and determine the best next action in ambiguous situations.
- Willingness and credibility to challenge conventional thinking and influence direction when data and insight warrant it.
- Highly organized and responsive, with strong attention to detail, follow-through, and a bias toward action.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage competing business needs, including project, resource, and timeline planning, with minimal direction.
- Clear, concise, and persuasive communicator with strong writing skills and the ability to influence outcomes.
- Decisive decision-maker who can move work forward, balance speed and rigor, and build momentum across teams.
- Passion for technology and a strong understanding of the enterprise and commercial technology landscape.
Preferred Experience:
- Established relationships with key IT and enterprise technology analysts and influencers; experience in semiconductors, data center, or enterprise IT systems strongly preferred.
- Experience translating complex technical and business concepts into clear, compelling narratives for senior and external audiences.
- Familiarity using earned and commissioned IAR assets to support marketing, sales enablement, and go-to-market efforts.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%, as business needs require.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
