The Role

Do you want to drive end-to-end delivery of artificial intelligence, math, computer vision, and communication libraries that power high-performance computing and AI applications? AMD is searching for a talented and motivated Program Manager 2.

The Person

You thrive in a dynamic, geographically distributed, agile environment where partnership and collaboration are paramount. You are detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized, with excellent communication skills. Your technical background enables you to engage developers on deep technical topics, while your interpersonal skills make you equally comfortable presenting to executives and working with strategic customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering Managers, Developers, Product Managers, and Program Managers to plan and execute AI open-source SDK projects.
• Act as a primary point of contact for strategic customers, ensuring alignment and clear communication throughout the program lifecycle.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement by gathering customer feedback and incorporating it into future initiatives.
• Prepare executive-level updates and customer-facing presentations.
• Develop and refine project plans, schedules, and risk mitigation processes.
• Ensure timely delivery of program milestones while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
• Implement effective, repeatable operational processes across the team.
• Partner with global engineering teams to align budgets, headcount, and operational efficiency.
• Support engineering management with resource planning and execution tracking.
• Create documentation, training materials, dashboards, and reports to improve program visibility.
• Enhance forecasting and reporting through automation and data analysis.
• Provide general operational support for the team.

 Preferred Experience

• Experience managing complex, interrelated software projects using agile and waterfall methodologies.
• Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience managing programs across multiple time zones.
• Knowledge of agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives and provide team training.
• Understanding of software development practices: CI/CD, testing, profiling, debugging, documentation, issue tracking, and planning.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub).
• Domain knowledge in high-performance computing, AI, and GPU software development.
