We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives.
AMD together we advance_
THE ROLE:
As a SMTS of Product Characterization Team, you will be working on performance evaluation of our Adaptive SoC and FPGA products. You will work closely with designers to plan, develop and execute various tests to make sure silicon performance and features are meeting design target in datasheet specification. You will be implementing test solutions using FPGA logic to apply characterization patterns and workaround to resolve any silicon issue.
THE PERSON:
If you are PASSIONATE, ADAPTABLE, and INNOVATIVE, AMD is the right place for you
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop functional tests for measuring performance of Digital IPs (RAM, DSP, SRL, and Memory PHY) and Hard IP System
- Development of RTL test designs and firmware to validate IPs
- Conduct testing across process, voltage, and temperature variations, as well as volume system testing, followed by analysis to identify trends and outliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Application, and Product Verification to investigate and resolve issues.
- Isolate issues to specific areas such as test gaps, software bugs, silicon bugs, or process deviations using ATE and bench setups.
- Analyze silicon characterization results and create characterization reports and insights
- Generates automation scripts where applicable for efficiency improvements.
- Manage and guide the junior engineers to handle ATE testing and data analysis.
- Maintain effective communication with program stakeholders
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in pattern development or analysis on Functional (Digital) Characterization and testing.
- Proficiency in Verilog, system Verilog is desirable with knowledge of FPGA design flow and software timing closure
- Knowledge of C programming, ARM assembly, embedded Linux, RTOS, and C compilers is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Scripting languages such as Perl, Phyton or TCL
- Experience with high-speed protocols such as DDR/LPDDR, and Digital IPs like RAM, DSP, SRL and Memory PHY.
- Experience in Testbench and Verification environments
- Basic understanding of ATE testing and NPI Process, bench testing and debug.
- Strong data analysis skill as well as proficiency in data analysis tool e.g. JMP, Microsoft tools
- Strong communication skills, works well in a group environment that spans across continents
- Knowledge of Vivado Software is a plus
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS in EE, CS, ECE or related field; MS preferred, with 10 or more years of experience
