Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring Product Development Engineers to Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components and/or systems for semiconductor products. Design, develop, and/or manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life. Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the products move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifestyle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires experience in the following:

1.Coding in C++, Perl, or Java;

2.CPU architecture;

3.Unix or Linux environments;

4.Logic and circuit design; and

5.ASIC design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis).

Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience. Skills may be gained concurrently.
