THE ROLE: 

This role focuses on supporting Power Management (PM) feature enabling for AMD server microprocessors. The engineer will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to execute PM firmware flows, assist in platform bring-up activities, and help debug and validate PM features.

The position provides hands-on exposure to product engineering execution, firmware interactions, and system-level behavior, with opportunities to grow technical depth and ownership over time.

 

THE PERSON: 

You bring foundational knowledge of power management concepts and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn complex systems quickly. You are comfortable working under technical guidance, communicating progress clearly, and collaborating across teams to resolve issues.

You are eager to deepen your expertise in PM feature execution, firmware flows, and validation, while gradually increasing technical ownership and independence.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support Power Management feature enabling for server products under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Execute and validate PM firmware flows, ensuring features meet functional requirements.
  • Assist in debugging feature-level or system-level issues and contribute to root-cause analysis.
  • Participate in platform bring-up and validation activities related to power management.
  • Collaborate with design, firmware, validation, and product engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, scripts, and documentation for PM feature validation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for validation coverage, debug efficiency, and execution workflows.
  • Clearly communicate status, risks, and findings to the broader team.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 2–3 years of experience in power management, firmware, validation, or system-level engineering.
  • Exposure to PM features, low-power states, performance/power tradeoffs, or server platforms is a plus.
  • Experience debugging feature-level or system-level issues with guidance.
  • Familiarity with lab bring-up, test automation, or validation environments.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
