MTS SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER  

 

THE ROLE:  

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead / Member Technical Staff to join our growing team. You will be part of a leading team to prototype and emulate the AMDs Adaptive SoCs and drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.  

 

THE PERSON:  

The AMD-Xilinx Silicon Systems integration and Validation team is looking for a MTS Engineer, who has a passion for building and validating prototyping and emulation based systems. As a member of the team, you will be involved in the entire silicon device life-cycle including evaluating requirements, vetting of design specifications, prototyping and emulation of the complete chip and it's bring-up at pre-silicon level, debugging first-silicon and testing system level designs. If you have an experience of building emulation platforms, thrive in a problem-solving environment, are resourceful, excel at validation of pre-silicon emulation prototyping systems, are aware of HW/SW solutions, and dynamic enough to adapt to changing silicon architectures, apply to this job

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Participate and build pre-silicon Prototyping and Emulation platform of complete SoC
  • Work with the architecture, design, and verification teams to identify use cases, vet specifications, design solutions, and develop validation test cases
  • Create system level test cases to analyze function of the design tools and performance on the pre-silicon emulation platforms 
  • Debug of RTL/platform specific issues on Prototyping and Emulation platforms
  • Bring-up first silicon and direct necessary debug of silicon and supporting tool 

 

MANDATORY SKILL SET:  

  • Strong digital fundamentals
  • Hands-on on complete Emulation/Prototyping flow : Palladium/Zebu/Veloce/Protium/HAPS
  • Working knowledge of complete build flow and emulation clocking: RTL to build
  • Working knowledge of creating custom black-box design as part of the flow.
  • Working knowledge of test case development and bring-up of AVIPs/Transactors and/or Speed Bridges/Virtual Bridges for various protocols.
  • FPGA timing constraints, STA and timing closure
  • Working knowledge of Verilog & System Verilog
  • Working protocol knowledge of AXI, APB, CHI.
  • Very good debugging skills
  • Proficient in Vivado/Vitis
  • Hands-on experience and well versed in scripting languages - tcl, Python, Perl
  • Ability to understand and resolve Vivado/tool specific issues and timing issues to get to a successful build
  • Able to operate independently
  • Very good team player

 

DESIRABLE SKILL SET:  

  • Knowledge and exposure of Xilinx SoC series of products – Zynq, Zynq MPSoC, Versal ACAP
  • Protocol knowledge of peripherals: PCIe Gen4/5, JTAG, SPI, UART, I2C, USB2.0, USB3.0, Display Port, HDMI, Ethernet 1G/2,5G/5G/10G
  • Extensive working knowledge of Xilinx SERDES and it's usage for high speed serial protocols and functional validation

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • B.Tech or MTech with Major in Electronics
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience
