THE ROLE:

G&E Custom SW Engineering team is essential to the success of AMD as a growing company. We provide world class program and issue management support customers like Lenovo, Xiaomi, Dell, HP, ASUS etc. throughout RFQ, software development, sustaining and EOL. SW Application Engineer is an important position to secure design wins,bug fix and maintain great customer relationship. You will be working with the very best engineering teams in our technology, while working on some of the most exciting products the industry has to offer.   

THE PERSON:

A self-motivated team player with English in reading, writing and speaking. Able to work under high pressure and time limitation. Good communication skill and able to work with global stakeholders effectively.Strong windows driver touble shooting skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Triage/Debug AMD product NPI program issue from software driver side and co-work with AMD global software development team and hardware development team.
• Support AMD OEM/ODM customers directly in daily work and do customer issue isolation/analysis from software driver side. To be the issue owner and drive customer issue closure.
• Accountable for all technical aspects of delivering differentiating software on AMD's APU and GPU platforms.
• Provide developer guidance,  software optimization, testing and implementation support by request.
• Answer questions from OEM/ODM related to SW driver principle. And dependency with Windows OS. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years working experience in windows kernel mode development or X86 PC product development
• Good knowledge of Windows OS and C/C++ programming
• Experience with graphic or audio driver development/debug on any platform is a plus.
• Familiar with CEA/VESA specification (HDMI/DP/eDP/LVDS) is a plus.
• Ability to quickly learn new skills and drive completion of business goals
• Experience working in a multi-site environment and ability to travel occasionally
• A team player, who is very self-motivated, loves difficult challenges, and is goal driven
• Basic English verbal communication skill is required.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or equivalent
