Key Responsibilities 

• Design and test embedded software applications for wired and/or wireless Network communications systems
• Develop embedded Linux /Bare metal applications, software solutions that can scale across Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs and ACAP devices
• Development of technical marketing POCs on current and next generation of wired communications and Network security applications to be demonstrated to customers and at trade shows.
• Engineer would be responsible for buiding system software components running on Bare metal/Linux
• The software components would be part of the FPGA/ACAP based networking applications datapath and platform elements. They can be user or kernel level components.
• He/She should be able to troubleshoot and support the datapath and application bring-up
• He/She should be able to work with technical teams across geographies, and various time zones
• Work on specific strategic projects for key design wins
• Generate Application Notes, Whitepapers and Reference Designs

Skill Requirements 

• Masters/Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Compute Science Engineering
• 8+ years of experience working on embedded systems SW development and in low level driver development, register interface programming, general algorithms and data structures
• Extensive hands-on programming skills in C and Python
• Understanding of various H/W architectures (PCIe, DMA, DDR, I2C, SPI, etc) and processors (x86, ARM)
• Hands on experience with Xilinx FPGA/ACAP development Kits (Flashing the image, Boot and run application SW)
• Experience working with Xilinx SoCs is highly desirable with focus on Wired Network communication platforms/accelerator cards
• Experience with network packet processing software development for L2/L3 layers: ARP, VLAN, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS
• Good Understanding of Linux kernel modules for: OpenSSL/TLS, IPSec, PKI
• Knowledge of multi-core/multi-process/multi-threaded programming
• Working knowledge of domain specific acceleration for Networking applications, DPDK, SmartNICs and Networking Fast Path
• Knowledge of Virtualization and Hypervisors including KVM and QEMU
• Knowledge of open-source Linux, source code upstreaming, git repository maintenance and source code management
• High degree of initiative and self-starter abilities
• Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and track multiple activities and work cohesively with the team
