Lab & Operations Manager

THE ROLE:  

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and creative leader who will be responsible for managing, leading, and developing a technical team working with post-silicon hardware, software, and automation teams, as well as building practices & methodologies that ensure success and rapid optimization of our products. 

THE PERSON:  

As Lab & Operations Manager, you will ensure the success of multiple programs by creating a scalable and innovative environment for our teams to deliver market leading products with market leading power & performance. Your people and program management skills will help provide tactical structure across teams, and your ability to work across those teams and bring their differing needs together will enable great collaboration.  Our work encompasses the breadth and depth of Client CPU and GPU technologies, and our teams will provide a challenging and supportive environment for your career growth and to fuel your opportunity to help us engineer the Best Possible Product – and in so doing, Delight Our Customers.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

•  Manage the Client Product Development Lab, including Space, Infrastructure, and Materials for multiple programs and stakeholder groups 
• Manage Lab Staff hiring and tasking, including contractors 
• Collaborate with Facilities, IT, Safety, ESD, and other lab groups on common needs, goals, & implementations 
• Support lab capacity planning and represent team in global lab space alignment, buildouts, & practices 
• Design, facilitate, & construct test fixtures and processes/procedures to optimize system power & performance engineering 
• Manage component & equipment purchase, repair, and refurbishment, maintain an inventory of common components; manage operational spends and account resolution, collaborate with engineers on multiple program test & debug requirements and related activities  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

• Demonstrated personnel leadership role with experience in influencing others, driving for change 
• Experience with workflow management, inventory control, and financial controls 
• Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment 
• Experience with automation and validation methodologies     
• Hands-on history of mechanical trouble shooting, computer board rework, and builds of x86 systems 
• Hands-on history of Windows and Network Administration 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferred
