THE ROLE:  

The EMEA Regional EHS Manager is responsible for administering global EHS programs at the Dublin site and numerous other AMD locations throughout the EMEA region. As part of a team, they ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety laws, rules, and regulations, as well as applicable company policies and procedures.

This role will work closely with regional and global EHS team members, management, and respective site representatives. They will support site EHS resources in creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, leading new initiatives, and achieving industry leading performance. Critical and analytical thinking is required, as is the ability to organize and present information and data in a succinct manner to department and company leadership as well as site personnel.

 

THE PERSON: 

The successful candidate is passionate about driving business impact through Environmental, Health and Safety compliance and will appropriately influence company strategy as related to compliance and program implementation at a regional level.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage and maintain all aspects of the environmental, health and safety programs in accordance with local, regional, and corporate policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
  • Compile and analyze EHS metrics, and provide reports to senior management on the overall effectiveness of reduction and recycling initiatives.
  • Work closely with operations and other personnel to identify opportunities for safety improvements and make recommendations for action, including the selection, implementation, and maintenance of safety equipment and procedures.
  • Ensure that all incidents are properly investigated and recorded, and oversee the region's incident reporting program.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in environmental, health and safety laws in EMEA.
  • Manage and forecast budget (consulting, waste, first aid, ERT, etc.) for EMEA sites.
  • Supervise and mentor EHS Engineer in Munich, Germany, and identify additional resource needs in the region.
  • Implement and assist with ongoing improvement of key EHS documentation, including programs, plans, guidelines, work instructions, and job hazard analyses.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate EHS inspections, assessments, and audits. Compile and analyze results and make recommendations for improvement when needed.
  • Utilize EHS reporting and data collection software to track scheduled events and those generated as a result of audits, as well as data related to chemicals, emergencies, injuries and illnesses, and EHS requests for assistance.
  • Enable regional regulatory compliance and ISO 14001/45001 adherence through the review of requirements and assistance driving resolution in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain records according to internal specifications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plans and programs and prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Generate summaries, reports on trends, and presentations on findings to share with audiences at all levels of the company.
  • Perform other Environmental, Health and Safety duties that may be required to support improvement, regulatory compliance, and best practices.
  • Lead health and safety committees where applicable.
  • Lead local emergency response team.
  • Participate as a member of the Crisis Management Team.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3-5 years of work experience in related area is required. Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing or related research and development preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish EHS regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge and application of EHS regulations, legal requirements and best practices in Europe.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and influence all levels of the organization to achieve a strong safety culture.
  • Ability to work remotely with a geographically dispersed team.
  • Demonstrated experience exercising independent judgment in analyzing complex work situations and solving problems.
  • Excellent analytical, organization and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Experience using EHS and/or Integrated Workplace Management System databases.
  • Excellent program development, management, and oversight experience, and ability to work across departments to manage health-related risks. 
  • Demonstration of the following proficiencies: Customer focus, organization, problem solving, integrity and trust, dealing with ambiguity, and evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Proven experience exercising independent judgment in analyzing complex work situations and driving work products. 
  • Excellent business writing skills and digital literacy in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Presentation development and presentation skills. 
  • Proven professional demeanor.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

Bachelor or graduate-level degree in Environmental, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or Science discipline from an accredited college or university.
