SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER 

 

THE ROLE: 

Join AMD's Formal Verification organization as a Graduate Engineer and kickstart your career in hardware verification. In this role, you will embark on a custom training curriculum, and you'll build your expertise through close mentorship from industry and domain experts, gaining hands‑on experience with the fundamentals and advanced techniques of formal verification while working with complex GPU and AI designs. As you develop your skills, you'll transition into AMD's Graphics IP Central Formal Verification Team, where you'll contribute to verifying next‑generation visual computing and AI chips using industry‑standard tools such as Cadence JasperGold and Synopsys VC Formal, supported by innovative AI‑driven verification technologies.

JOB DETAILS:

  • Location: Cambridge or Bristol, UK
  • Hybrid 

  WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Develop SVA properties and constraints from design specifications, build and maintain formal testbenches, and create block‑level verification plans
  • Debug counterexamples, work closely with design engineers to clarify intent and resolve functional issues, and track key verification metrics
  • Contribute to improvements in formal verification methodology, document assumptions and findings, and share key insights with the wider team
  • Receive structured training in digital design fundamentals, SystemVerilog Assertions, property development, and formal convergence techniques, while gaining exposure to cutting‑edge GPU and AI microarchitecture
  • Track verification metrics such as proof convergence and property completeness

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

  • You are a final‑year student or a recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
  • You are passionate about hardware and curious about hardware verification and formal methods.
  • You are self‑motivated, self‑driven, and enjoy problem‑solving complex technical challenges.
  • You have a strong foundation in digital logic, computer science, or mathematics.
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and are able to adapt quickly to new technologies
  • You are a clear communicator and collaborative team player with a growth mindset
