Fall 2024 Advanced Packaging Reliability Engineering Co-op/Intern

 

JOB LOCATION:  Austin, Texas  

 

ONSITE: This is an onsite position – the intern/co-op is required to relocate if necessary and work full-time (40 hours) from the location office.  

 

PROGRAM TERM: Fall 2024 (August 19th / September 9th - December 13th, 2024)

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:  

  • Collaborate closely with reliability engineers at AMD to build a comprehensive database of failure mechanisms related to reliability tests, and root causes in advanced packaging technologies across AMD products.   

  • Analyze extensive test data sets, extract insights, and develop metrics that best capture material/performance degradation.   

  • Develop machine learning models trained on the database to predict failure root causes based on a given reliability test and FT alarm codes.   

  • Gain hands-on experience with machine learning tools and techniques, and deepen your understanding of AMD products, their design, and various field applications.   

  • In addition to technical skills, the intern will acquire soft skills such as collaborating with diverse engineering teams, creating technical presentations, writing technical reports, and learning typical business practices.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Proficient in Python scripting.
  • Proficient in Machine Learning libraries (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch). 
  • Proficiency working with databases.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components and assembly

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited US University - graduate degree program.
  • MS or PhD level student studying: Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Computer Science.
  • Background in Machine Learning techniques.

WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:

  • The ability to work two co-op terms back-to-back (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025) is a plus!
  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus!
