THE ROLE:

 

As a Content Strategist at AMD, you'll shape how technical content is designed and delivered to global audiences. You'll work with documentation leaders and cross-functional teams to create strategies that improve usability and findability, introduce innovative content practices, and influence long-term evolution. This is a high-impact role where your ideas drive change and enhance the user experience.

THE PERSON: 

We are seeking a Content Strategist who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, innovative individual with a solid knowledge of documentation design and delivery best practices. You will leverage your demonstrated success in development and implementation of technical content strategies, including content architecture and project management, and in related change management to improve the usability and findability of AMD technical content deliverables. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Define long-term, strategic goals for using technical content to improve user success with AMD products​, for various content types, audiences, and means of access, in collaboration with technical documentation leadership and a cross-functional Content Strategy Advisory Board. 
  • Collaboratively define a roadmap and key results, and track implementation of content strategy across all defined areas.  
  • Forecast and plan for maintaining and evolving the content strategy, beyond a one-time initiative.  
  • Use influencing skills to build broad, cross-functional interest in, and commitment to, practices related to technical content strategy.  
  • Conduct content need and gap analyses, accounting for internal and external audiences, to develop an innovative, over-arching content strategy. 
  • Lead content strategy and doc planning for selected new and complex doc sets.  
  • Collaborate to create lightweight, extensible processes for migration into and new development of deliverables aligned with the content strategy. 
  • Guide technical content project leads to implement content strategy guidelines. 
  • Leverage and define useful reporting and analytics to identify opportunities to improve content. 
  • Facilitate conversations and research when existing content does not meet customer needs.
  • Identify new opportunities for technical content to transform and support the user experience.
  • Keep aware of the latest industry methods and technologies for delivering technical information, to leverage in long-term content evolution. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

  • Experience as a Content Architect and/or Strategist, designing strategic solutions for online technical content. 
  • Strong presentation skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of DITA and experience with component content management systems (CCMSs). 
  • Experience optimizing content findability via architecture, usability, and metadata/SEO enhancements. 
  • Demonstrable understanding of structured authoring, content reuse, GitHub, and HTML documentation. 
  • Initiative and ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams and leaders. 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
