Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for cutting edge AI model development and inference in Mega Data Centers, Enterprise Data Centers, HPC and Embedded systems. THE ROLE:
In this high-profile Director role, you will be the overall leader for key MDC platforms from concept to execution. You will work across all of engineering and business to meet overall initiative and/or product objectives. Successful applicants will work with AMD's customers, product development teams, executives, hardware engineers, software developers, business development and sales team to bring to life the world's fastest servers and clusters for artificial intelligence. You will be responsible for planning, driving, and reporting on joint product development and deployment with top customers and be the point of contact on all matters related to the program both internally and externally.
THE PERSON:
The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, engineering and an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicates program status, issues, risk management and recommended mitigation plans to multi-functional and executive teams. Drive timely resolution of any roadblocks.
Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance
Scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads and Engineers
Develop program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components and HW/FW dependencies, negotiate and create a staffing plan that supports the schedule
Building, creating, and maintaining a well-developed, managed and executed program plan is critical
You will establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs
Excellence in resource planning is necessary
The successful candidate must also plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs
Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement. You must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Deep experience in program management for SW/HW product development in datacenter solutions or customer/vendor program management
Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and issue management
Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items
Able to quickly and clearly communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders
Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis
Experience working in a high-pressure environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times
Engineering background and proficiency strongly preferred
Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset
Experience with Agile methodology
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or similar
