The Opportunity:
Joining as a senior engineer to join our Engineering Operations team that works within the worldwide IAA organization (ISV and Advanced Architecture) to deliver high-quality production-ready software, primarily for real-time graphics within games. IAA publicly releases unique GPU and CPU software technologies via AMD's open-source, developer-focused initiatives. IAA's software products include the AMD FSR™ Redstone Technologies with AMD FSR™ SDK.
Responsible for the delivery and quality of IAA's software, enabling the team's engineering efforts to run smoothly and produce high-quality software. It does that by providing and supporting the infrastructure and processes throughout production, all the way through to public open source release on GitHub.
Who You Are:
You will have a background and keen interest in modern software development tooling, testing and deployment, especially around continuous integration, automated testing, and software quality. Excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a large, globally diverse team that works on many different software projects in parallel. Working methodically to develop and improve CTG systems, including producing documentation to share key knowledge with the rest of the team, with the maturity to work autonomously on daily tasks.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain, improve and develop the software delivery methods for the CTG team, on all of our internal and public open-source projects.
- Maintain and improve the performance and usability of our Gitlab and GitHub-based CI/CD systems.
- Work with other Engineering Operations team members to maintain and deploy our other in-house infrastructure and systems.
- Contribute to the expansion of those systems so that they grow in such a way that enables future projects, including those that require high-performance machine learning.
- Provide engineering assistance for software QA and enable the team with tools and automation to support their work.
Preferred Experience:
- Bsc or Msc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Or Equivalent.
- Production delivery of complex C++ software on Windows using Microsoft toolchains.
- Comfort with both Windows and Linux for build, deployment, maintenance and automation.
- CI/CD automation experience using Gitlab runners, GitHub Actions, or an equivalent system.
- Software build and deployment using container infrastructure such as Docker or podman.
- OS virtualization and emulation systems such as KVM, QEMU, HyperV and Xen.
- Familiarity with C++ and Python software debugging and profiling tools.
- Maintenance of high-performance, highly available ZFS file systems and how they relate to both performance and robust disaster recovery.
- Programming for software build automation systems.
- Experience of building graphics software against the Windows DirectX and Vulkan SDKs is a big plus.
