Role Overview: 

 

As a Developer Community Manager, you will be primarily responsible for developing and executing community development strategies and tactics, as well as engaging with the AMD Developer Community in forums, social channels, and at industry events. Your goal is to empower growth of developers who are influential within technical communities, advocacy, and knowledge sharing within these communities.  

 

You'll act as a bridge between the global community of developers on AMD platforms and internal teams, ensuring a seamless exchange of insights and resources. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of PC hardware and software; and a good understanding of community platforms like Discourse/Discord, and community management best practices. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a highly dynamic environment.

Key Job Functions: 

  • Create innovative long and short terms community development plans, strategies, and tactics by collaborating with internal Engineer, Marketing, Sales, and Public Relations teams. 
  • Assess the community's pulse, understand its needs, concerns, and communicate to internal teams to improve the community members' experience.   
  • Develop relationships with key members of the AMD Developer Community to help evangelize the AMD hardware and software solutions.  
  • Measure the Community's health by creating periodical performance reports using the platform's and other analytics tools.  
  • Moderate, create content calendar(s), conduct surveys and/or polls, and engage the community in the various forums. 
  • Support the AMD Developer Community by answering generic questions using the community platform's forums, private messages, and at industry events.  
  • Contribute to internal knowledge base to enable community teams to engage with community swiftly and competently.  
  • Attend various industry events and plan meet-ups to promote AMD Developer Community.  

 

Preferred Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or Engineering is a plus. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in community management or marketing, preferably in PC hardware/software or gaming. 
  • Proven ability to create and execute community management plans and collaborate effectively with senior management and partners. 
  • Strong knowledge of social media, community platforms (e.g., Discord, Discourse), and moderation practices. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills. 
  • Experience with customer support across forums, email, and social networks. 
  • Flexibility to handle ambiguity and manage multiple projects under deadlines.
