THE ROLE:
AMD is searching for a Cloud Business Planning Manager who will help define and drive our EPYC Datacenter CPU business and strategy. This person will join the Cloud Business Group, a tightly knit team of seasoned and high-output professionals who collectively drive AMD's Datacenter Strategy and business development activities for the Cloud Segment. The success of the Cloud Group is built on ownership and delivery of results for the rapidly growing server business. The team operates in deep partnership with stakeholders across product, sales, finance, and operations.
THE PERSON:
As a Business Planning Manager, your role will be to run the business unit planning operations for North America Cloud MDCs. You will develop strategies and plans to gain market share and product gross margin, align with Sales and Business Development leadership and effectively communicate these plans to executive management and peer organizations (finance, supply chain, sales). You will be reporting to the leader for AMD's Cloud Business Management team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Market research and interaction with key customers to understand market trends inclusive of TAM, sell-in & sell-out
- Interpretation of corporate goals and how NA MDC accounts can impact those goals
- Creation of high-impact strategies or plays from the immediate to +5 years
- Documentation of business plans, including volume, mix, revenue, margin, and market share
- Collaborate & align with sales, finance, account leaders, and other teams
- Communication of strategies and plans to executive team
- Contingency and/or alternatives planning for possible market shifts
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years in a fast-paced business planning or strategy role - high tech experience preferred
Optimally, you will also have:
- Pre-existing understanding of the Server market, with an emphasis on Cloud MDCs
- Exceptional time-management skills - ability to handle multiple ongoing projects/initiatives
- Ability to quickly create effective strategies with imperfect or insufficient datasets
- Strong organizational skills - Ability to work across a large organization and get things done
- Executive-level presentation and communication skills - ability to speak with confidence
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS and/or MS degree in Business Management, Finance, or Engineering from a top-tier university
- MBA is a strong plus.
