AI & HPC Datacenter Solution Architect

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Datacenter Design Solution Architect to lead and drive the architecture, design, and deployment strategies of AI and HPC datacenter infrastructures built using AMD Instinct GPUs. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients supporting them on various presales planning and data center deployments including data center audit, system architecture, power distribution, liquid/air cooling systems, compute, network and cabling, and cluster bring-up.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and document a deep understanding of our customer's hardware, system software, and workload requirements
  • Lead and facilitate white-boarding sessions with customers to articulate solution options
  • Collaborate with cross-AMD engineering teams to architect cluster-level reference solutions that meet customer requirements based on AMD Instinct-based solutions
  • Engage with partners (OEMs/ODMs/Network HW providers/Power System providers) to map AMD reference solutions to their offerings. Provide feedback and recommendations to improve performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal customer enablement teams and partners to plan and manage deployments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct pre-deployment planning and data center audits including reviewing cluster and data center architecture, identify potential risks, and collaborate with teams to address risk areas.
  • Verify that deployments meet customer expectations and drive improvement initiatives to streamline processes and optimize infrastructure operations.
  • Serve as a domain expert and point of contact for infrastructure-related inquiries and customer-blocking issues.

 

Required qualification & experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of working experience with infrastructure deployment experience in enterprise and/or hyperscale data centers
  • Working experience in data center operations, or infrastructure management roles, focusing on large-scale HPC or AI GPU data center deployments
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in the data center stack - power distribution, liquid cooling, servers, networking, storage, and pre-deployment planning
  • Strong knowledge of whole data center infrastructure stack
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to enable productive customer discussions
  • Willingness to travel

 

The ideal candidate would have experience in moving a multi-megawatt data center concept to full production for either greenfield or brownfield datacenters.

 

Location: San Jose, CA or Hybrid/Remote in North America
