About the role

Seeking an opportunity to advance your career and create lasting improvements? Join our Global Internal Audit Team at our soon to be Perth based office where your expertise will help strengthen business processes and financial integrity across our global operations.

In this role, you'll leverage your analytical skills to evaluate internal controls, uncover inefficiencies, and deliver insightful recommendations that optimise our business. You will gain extensive exposure to Alcoa's broader business which will include insight into the company's financial philosophies and practices which will guide your professional career development. In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and executing audit assignments including SOX audits and facilitating positive responses and actions through written and verbal communication.

  • Developing or modifying audit work programs as required and frequently providing functional guidance and direction when required.

  • Transferring knowledge in the form of suggestions to improve internal audit processes and supporting other departments with meeting the Internal Audit department's mission.

  • Traveling between our Australian sites, with opportunity to explore Alcoa's global operations including Europe, Asia and the Americas to conduct audits.

What you can bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in the Commerce/Business field, ideally majoring in Accounting/Finance.

  • Reasonable audit experience within an internal or external environment with previous experience in a similar industry would be considered favourably.

  • Professional certification as a Charted Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant will be highly desirable.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management.

  • Leadership and problem-solving expertise, including the ability to coach teams, manage audits, and provide strategic advice with a keen eye for detail.

  • Proficiency in business systems and technology, with desirable experience in Oracle/SAP, plus a proactive, deadline-driven work style with strong decision-making capabilities.

  • A current Australian Driver's License to travel to Alcoa's sites as required located in the South-West of Western Australia.
