About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Quality Assurance Coordinator at our WAO Workshop located at our Pinjarra Refinery. Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, this role will provide support to the WAO workshop line management team by leading development, coordination and implementation of Quality Assurance systems, along with ensuring the systems are audited and strategically aligned with Alcoa Quality Policy and Standards (ISO 9001.)

This position is offered Monday through Friday with a flexible leisure day to take once every four-weeks!

Key activities in the role are:

  • Advancing system design and sustainability within the WAO Workshop for processes related to equipment overhauls, fabrication, and machining.

  • Working with internal resources to ensure products are produced to standard, and where required, developing, and embedding standards

  • Conducting system audits to identify and correct weaknesses to ensure quality is maintained.

  • Provide training, coaching and problem-solving expertise to leaders, direct reports and employees to enhance quality systems and processes leading to improved compliance.

  • Develop and manage an engagement plan with internal customers, external suppliers and contract managers

  • Lead a team as part of the WAO Workshop Engineering organisation to test sample and improve maintenance methods, work practices and quality standards.

  • Lead problem solving activities for the WAO Workshop and customers

  • Drive improvements to systems, processes, standards, maintenance methods, reliability, mechanical design and drawings

What you can bring to the role:

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Work experience within the Alumina, Resource, Manufacturing or Heavy-Duty Industry(Desirable)

  • Demonstrated experience employing a strategic and analytical mindset to lead a small team to support day-to-day activities in a large production workshop.

  • Success in implementing and improving systems and processes; Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), Asset Management Systems ISO 55000 or IT / digital platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience in Business Analysis and Improvement, Lean Six Sigma or Change Management.

  • Ability to communicate and engage with a diverse workforce
