About the Role:
As the Procurement Manager at Alumar, you will be responsible for leading complex and strategic procurement processes of services and must ensure the best negotiation for the company, in commercial, technical and contractual aspects. This position is also responsible for the detailed analysis along with the procurement process to mitigate risks and support the execution of both large and baseload projects. It requires a close alignment with engineering, project management team, operational functions, serving as a point of accountability within the procurement function.
The key responsibilities include:
- Manage services addressable spend, leading end-to-end procurement process of specialized services (engineering, construction, commissioning and maintenance), ensuring alignment with project scope, cost, schedule and quality;
- Lead market engagement, such as Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP) and negotiations, on a regional and global basis, of contracts on critical/complex packages to meet project schedule, quality and commercial goals;
- Definition of the best contractual modelling for each services to negotiate, requiring a solid knowledge of contract models (EPCM, EPC, Turnkey, Global prices, Unit prices), including performance-based and milestone payment ones;
- Commercial analysis of proposals for services providers, which includes deep analysis on cost structure breakdown, warranties, comparison and equalization of proposals, evaluation and stablishing proper connection with technical proposals;
- Identify and execute opportunities on critical and complex packages for cost reduction and supplier performance improvement, including alternating suppliers and products, renegotiating contracts to account for market changes, and as well as influencing functional areas as needed;
- Provide guidance and leadership to Projects to ensure procurement strategies developed within projects align with the overall global and regional strategies.
What you can bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, Engineering or related;
- High level of both written and verbal proficiency in English language;
- Solid experience in a Procurement Leadership role in Contract, Commodity, Procurement Specialist (or equivalent);
- Strong experience in conducting end-to-end services bids, with high knowledge in cost breakdown analysis;
- Skills and expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, data mining, analytical and query tools;
- Capital project delivery knowledge and experience, understanding of Capital projects dynamics (FEL), Project Delivery and Management processes;
- Availability to live in São Luis, Maranhão (on-site position).
