About the Role

Alcoa is seeking an experienced HV Mobile Maintenance Electrician to join the team at our Willowdale mine site. Your role will be to effectively maintain a fleet of Komatsu 730e-10 AC and DC drive haul trucks. This includes regular electrical servicing, component replacements, attending breakdowns to diagnose and repair in the workshop and field environment. OEM training and continual support will be provided to further develop your electrical knowledge. This opportunity is on a 2 Days, 2 Nights, 5 off roster.

Some of your duties will include

  • Assist with electrical breakdowns and repairs on mobile equipment.

  • Statutory electrical testing and inspections of mobile plant 

  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures

  • Providing technical support and guidance to other members of the team

  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all work performed

What can you bring to the role

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a HV Electrician, preferably in a similar industry or mining environment

  • Formal qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • HV switching ticket

  • 3 years minimum experience on AC and DC Electric drive trucks 

  • Strong working knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

  • Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings and schematics

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Proven commitment to safety and a strong safety-first mindset

Willowdale is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia, and is located in the Darling Scarp east of Waroona and Cookernup. It supplies bauxite ore to the Wagerup Alumina Refinery via a direct overland conveying system and helps to produce almost half of Australia's alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia's aluminium.
