About the Role:

Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional looking for a site-based role that lets you be home every night?

Join our WA Mining H&S team as a Health & Safety Consultant and make a significant impact on our Huntly and Willowdale locations. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you'll be key in reducing risk and improving safety performance.

Why This Role Rocks: We are now able to offer this position on a, 7 days on 7 days off roster, allowing you to be home every night, and giving you the change to spend concentrated time doing more of the things you love, every second week. This position will be days only, working 10.3 hours a day, based at our Willowdale Mine Site, (Please google maps the location before you apply, as it is Further South than Huntly) You will be providing comprehensive Health & Safety support, technical advice, and coaching. You'll ensure thorough H&S audits are conducted and documented, implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance. Your talent for creating and delivering engaging training programs will drive positive improvements, and you'll lead teams on various safety projects and activities. What you can bring to the role:

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in the Health and Safety field or related subject area

  • Strong Health & Safety related experience, ideally in an industrial environment.

  • Knowledge and application of legislative standards to ensure Alcoa's compliance to H&S requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal enabling you to lead people in the continuous improvement of health and safety systems, and performance.

  • Contractor experience is desirable

  • Proficient in utilising Microsoft excel and various incidental management systems.

About the Location

Willowdale is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia, and is located in the Darling Scarp east of Waroona and Cookernup. It supplies bauxite ore to the Wagerup Alumina Refinery via a direct overland conveying system and helps to produce almost half of Australia's alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia's aluminium.
