About the role:

Do you have a passion for contractor management? This exciting position requires a hardworking, proactive and committed team player who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of contractor services management.

The Contractor Management Superintendent role works closely with the Mine Manager and offers a family friendly Monday to Friday roster predominately based at our Huntly Mining Operations situated east of North Dandalup in WA..

In addition, you will also be responsible for providing strategic oversight, operational management and governance in the management of Contractors at our Alcoa WA Mining Operations. This includes implementing, managing and ensuring compliance with the global Contractor Management Standard and associated supporting processes and systems of work to ensure safe, effective, and quality delivery of Contractor services.

This position is a Senior leadership role and is responsible for driving adherence to Alcoa standards, ensuring Contractors operate and are managed in accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements whilst providing coaching and support to location leadership and other key stakeholders in ensuring adherence to the Global Contractor Management Standard and associated processes within WA Mining, including provision of training, guidance, and assessment of compliance audits, developing and managing execution of actions to address any opportunities and gaps to ultimately delivering safe and efficient execution of work executed by Contractors. .

What you can bring to the role:

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project or contract management or a mining related field, or equivalent experience will be held in high regard.

  • Experience working within the mining and/or resource industry in Australia

  • Experience in contractor management and the management of contractor organisations and personnel

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and regulations pertaining to mining in Western Australia

  • Attention to detail and strong written and communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships both within and external to the organisation

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to drive change and implementation and improvement programs to robust plans and schedules.

  • Strong business acumen in the ongoing fiscal management of budgets and labour management.

About the Location

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world's second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa's Pinjarra and Kwinana alumina refineries.
