Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field of study required
  • MBA preferred, but not required

Work Experiences:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in large retail environment, consumer package goods, or advertising agency that serves Fortune 500 companies
  • 4+ years of management experience with strong people development background
  • Experience with campaign planning and cross functional project management required
  • Previous management responsibilities of $20M+ advertising budget required
  • Experience working in retail environment preferred

  • Excels at cross functional campaign management practices including translating insights into actionable briefs, leadership of communications planning, execution and measurement of tactics

Responsibilities:

  • Manage team focused on marketing business support for stores organization to drive best in class performance in opening new store locations, protecting store traffic share against competitive retail pressures and working to find turn key solutions to scale grassroots marketing partnerships
  • Partner with Real Estate, Finance, Store Operations and Customer leadership stakeholders to evaluate marketing viability of proposed new store locations and cost analysis to budget for successful grand opening and sustainment efforts
  • Prioritize market share campaigns with Regional Vice Presidents to align resources for protection from traffic share loss including competitive entry blunting campaigns
  • Oversee execution of strategic partnerships across sports properties and outdoor conservation groups
  • Identify and implement platforms, partners and products to connect the brand to local sports and outdoors customers with a focus on improving store traffic share
  • Support enterprise integrated marketing campaign planning to help localize go-to-market efforts to meet store business objectives
  • Plan, forecast and manage expense budgets for Regional Marketing and New Store marketing divisions
  • Identify and evaluate new marketing opportunities across all regions; create cross-functional and third partnerships where needed
  • Maintain current knowledge on state and federal laws that pertain to promotions and events
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rules
  • Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

  •  Up to 30% travel required
  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
  • Regular attendance required
  • May be required to work on weekends and holidays.
