About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Consumer Dispute Specialist to manage consumer disputes from initiation to resolution. In this role, you will ensure compliance with established policies and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulations while adhering to strict timelines for dispute acknowledgment and investigation results. You will review consumer dispute reports, communicate effectively with consumers, and utilize multiple systems to document actions and prioritize caseloads. What You'll Do:

  • Manage consumer disputes accurately and efficiently from initiation to resolution, adhering to established policies, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulations, and dispute resolution timelines.
  • Handle dispute acknowledgment notifications within five days and communicate investigation results within thirty days of receiving requests.
  • Review consumer dispute reports, make sound judgments, gather supporting documentation, and determine appropriate actions while maintaining a high attention to detail throughout the process.
  • Communicate effectively with consumers to understand their concerns and prioritize cases to manage your caseload efficiently.
  • Utilize multiple systems and resources, manually review disputed information, update consumer reports, and notify credit bureaus and vendors as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of Yardi's Resident Screening product, comply with confidentiality procedures, and follow FCRA regulations.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience in a legal or regulatory compliance position
  • Knowledge of the FCRA or other consumer rights processes
  • Knowledge of credit reports and civil and criminal record terminology
  • Awesome written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Outlook
  • Phenomenal customer service skills and desire to go the extra mile
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and the ability to prioritize effectively
  • A love for details and accuracy!
  • Professional phone demeanor and strong follow through
  • Great people skills and the ability to be personable and professional

Ideal to Have:

  • Experience working as a paralegal
  • Experience using a customer relationship management (“CRM”) or sales database system
