Job Summary

The Occupational Physical Therapist provides onsite physical therapy services focused on injury prevention, early intervention, functional improvement, and ergonomic risk reduction. This role partners with the client and internal WorkCare teams to support employee health, reduce injury-related costs, and promote safe, sustainable work performance.

Schedule: 50 hours per week; Monday - Friday 7:00am - 6:00pm plus 10 hours of overtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite physical therapy evaluations and interventions within scope of practice and state regulations.
  • Deliver early intervention services to address musculoskeletal discomfort before recordable injury occurs.
  • Identify cases requiring medical referral and coordinate appropriate escalation.
  • Design and implement injury prevention and movement optimization programs.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and job task analyses.
  • Support return-to-work and transitional duty programs through functional progression.
  • Document all services accurately, timely, and in compliance with legal and program standards.
  • Track and report trends, outcomes, and program effectiveness.
  • Educate employees on body mechanics, posture, and safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Health, Safety, HR, and leadership teams.
  • Maintain clinic equipment and supplies used for PT services.
  • Comply with client policies, WorkCare standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and assume responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.


Qualifications

Education / Licensure & Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT or equivalent)
  • Active Physical Therapist license in the state of practice
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • 2–5 years of clinical Physical Therapy experience required
  • Experience in occupational health, ergonomics, industrial rehabilitation, or sports medicine preferred

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Windows operating system environment, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn and use electronic medical records and client reporting systems.

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
  • Some bending and stretching could be required.
  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
  • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds and climb stairs

 

Work Environment

  • Primarily onsite industrial or office environment
  • Noise level is typically moderate
  • Temperature and air quality generally controlled

 

This position has an hourly pay range of $48 - $58. Final compensation for this position depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
