The following services are offered by our department: Drug & Alcohol Testing, Education Sessions, Employee Assistance Program, Hearing Conservation Program, Physical Examinations, Wilson Onsite Wellness, Worksite Health & Injury Management. Job Summary: Wilson Health is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Occupational Health team. The Occupational Health LPN provides nursing support to promote the health, safety, and wellness of employees and employer partners. This role delivers high-quality clinical care, supports workplace health programs, assists with employee health services, and collaborates with providers, employers, and healthcare teams to ensure regulatory compliance and positive health outcomes.The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to employees and community partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide professional nursing care and clinical support within the Occupational Health Department under the direction of a provider or registered nurse.
- Perform employee health services including health screenings, assessments, vital signs, immunizations, and other occupational health-related services.
- Assist with pre-employment physicals, medical surveillance programs, and workplace health evaluations.
- Perform and document testing and screenings such as hearing tests, vision screenings, respiratory fit testing, tuberculosis testing, and other occupational health assessments.
- Obtain and document accurate medical histories, medication information, allergies, and health information.
- Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
- Provide education and guidance to employees regarding health promotion, wellness initiatives, injury prevention, and workplace safety.
- Support workplace injury care, including evaluation, documentation, follow-up, and coordination of care as needed.
- Assist with workers' compensation processes, including communication with employers, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Utilize electronic health record systems, including Epic, for documentation and tracking of occupational health services.
- Communicate effectively with employees, employer clients, providers, and internal departments.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with OSHA, CDC, and other applicable occupational health guidelines and regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department projects.
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and inventory within the Occupational Health Department.
- Provide excellent customer service while representing Wilson Health with professionalism and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and patient care standards.
- Ability to perform clinical assessments and recognize changes in patient conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, providers, and employer partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with electronic medical records; Epic experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and providing a positive experience for every interaction.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Ohio required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within required timeframe.
- Experience:
- Previous clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Occupational Health, Employee Health, Urgent Care, Primary Care, or outpatient nursing experience preferred.
- Experience with workplace health services, workers' compensation, or employee wellness programs preferred.
- Sysdoc experience helpful
