Responsibilities

WellStar Medical Group is seeking a motivated and experienced(3 - 15 years) board certified General Thoracic Surgeon to join Wellstar Thoracic Surgery Associates.

The candidate will join a well-established, busy and experienced team of thoracic surgeons in the WellStar Health System performing over 1200 cases annually. Wellstar has one of the largest lung cancer screening programs in the United States, and is starting an incidental nodule program. There is a strong focus on true multi-disciplinary care delivered in the STAT Clinics.

The candidate is expected to take an active role in program development in the main campus at Kennestone Hospital and in the surrounding network hospitals.

Qualifications

Candidates are expected to have completed a Fellowship in Thoracic Surgery and be current in certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

The ideal candidate is skilled in minimally invasive thoracic surgery (VATS), with or without robotic expertise. This candidate should have skills and experience in surgery for both malignant and benign thoracic processes, including thefull spectrum of pulmonary, esophageal, mediastinal and chest wall disease. Experience and skill in tracheal surgery is especially desired.
