Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacy operations and patient care services by performing technical and administrative functions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role contributes to safe, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery by supporting medication dispensing, inventory management, patient access, and coordination of pharmacist-delivered clinical services. Provide support to current and future initiatives as outlined by pharmacy and upline WellPower leadership.
Location: Position is split between 4141 E Dickinson Place, & 4455 E 12th Ave
Shift/Hours: Monday thru Friday; varied shifts with hours ranging from 8am to 4:30pm; 8:30am to 5pm; and 9am to 5:30pm

The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range, the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.
Job Duties & Functions:
1. Medication Preparation & Dispensing Support
- Accurately prepare, count, label, and package medications for pharmacist verification
- Enter prescription and patient information into pharmacy systems
- Support prescription processing, including transfers and documentation
- Operate dispensing technology and automation as applicable
- Assist with preparation and processing of controlled substances in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all work prior to pharmacist verification
2. Patient Access & Coordination
- Support timely patient access to medications and services through: a) Prescription intake and processing b) Insurance adjudication and resolution of claim rejections c) Coordination of refills, medication synchronization, and medication pick-up or delivery
- Conduct patient outreach to support medication adherence and continuity of care
- Provide clear, professional communication to patients and care teams
- Assist with coordination of clinical services, including scheduling, intake, and follow-up for immunizations, long-acting injectables (LAIs), and other pharmacist-delivered services
- Administer immunizations in accordance with state law, certification, and organizational protocols, where authorized
3. Inventory & Operational Management
- Manage medication and supply inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in inventory audits
- Monitor for outdates, shortages, and appropriate storage conditions
- Support controlled substance processes in accordance with policy and regulations
- Process and coordinate medication returns to wholesalers, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, and timely reconciliation of inventory
4. Billing & Administrative Support
- Process and adjudicate prescriptions through pharmacy billing systems
- Identify and resolve claim issues, including prior authorizations and coverage barriers, as applicable
- Support point-of-sale transactions and cash handling procedures
- Assist with documentation and billing support for pharmacist-delivered medical services, as applicable
- Support administrative workflows that improve reimbursement and patient access
5. Compliance & Quality
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Follow all applicable federal, state, and organizational policies and procedures
- Support medication safety and quality assurance processes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment
6. Team & Workflow Support
- Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to support efficient workflow
- Anticipate operational needs and proactively assist in workload distribution
- Contribute to workflow improvements and process optimization initiatives
- Maintain a trauma-informed, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
7. Role Scope, Advancement & Flexibility
- Pharmacy Technicians perform technical and administrative functions that support medication dispensing, patient access, and pharmacist-delivered clinical services. The role is designed to fully utilize technician training and licensure in accordance with federal and state law, including evolving technician responsibilities authorized within the state of Colorado. Technicians are expected to perform duties that optimize pharmacy workflow and support patient care, which may include, but are not limited to:
- Medication preparation and dispensing support, including handling of controlled substances in accordance with regulations
- Administration support for pharmacist-delivered and technician-authorized services, including vaccines where permitted
- Medication adherence support, including patient outreach, refill coordination, and medication synchronization
- Participation in advanced workflows such as technician-to-technician verification (tech-check-tech), where authorized
- Billing, documentation, and administrative support for pharmacy and medical services
- Coordination of care activities that improve medication access, adherence, and clinical outcomes
8. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Licensure
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Active Pharmacy Technician Certification
· Active State Board of Pharmacy registration/licensure
Experience
· Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience preferred
Physical Requirements: Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.
