- We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the team on the Pediatric Float unit!
- Nurses on this 21-bed unit care for children from newborn to adult.
- Nurses will be floating to potentially five different units at the American Family Children's Hospital including seeing GC, IMC or ICU patients.
- Nurses provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems.
- Problems include: general care along with ICU patients including acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO.
- Job Requirements
- Must have at least 2 years of true Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience.
- Must be willing to work in the ICU, IMC and GC units.
- Trach experience is preferred.
- Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.
- Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
- Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks).
- Schedule Information
- Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience.
- The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
- During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
- Unit Specific Information
- The Pediatric Float unit is a 21-bed unit caring for children from newborn to adult.
- Nurses will be floating to potentially five different units.
- Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
- Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.
- Additional Details
- UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Profiles will need to be submitted in the following format: .docx, .xlsx and .pptx file types or our IS department will be blocking them and we will no longer receive the files nor able to forward internal to our hiring managers.
