Position Description   The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is seeking a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor with expertise in sleep science to join a dynamic research team at the Center for BrainHealth. We invite applicants with strong research programs and demonstrated strengths in applying novel methodological or analytical approaches to their work. A successful candidate should be well-funded or show strong potential for securing external funding.  While all areas of sleep science will be considered, we especially encourage applications from researchers whose work bridges sleep neuroscience and socio-emotional processes across the lifespan. Furthermore, candidates who combine experimental sleep manipulation with advanced neuroimaging and electrophysiological methods (e.g., fMRI, EEG, autonomic physiology assessment) will be particularly well-suited to contribute to the interdisciplinary missions of both the department and the center. This appointment commences for the fall 2025 semester.   Qualifications   Minimum Education & Experience: Candidates must have earned a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited program and demonstrate their commitment to excellence in research. Postdoctoral training is desirable. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline.   The Psychology Department and School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences   The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) is a dynamic, interdisciplinary school at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas). As a Carnegie Tier 1 (R1) research university that is one of the fastest growing institutions in the US, BBS is in a period of rapid growth, investing in hiring new faculty, enhancing the support of doctoral students, and making strategic infrastructure investments to support its three departments (Psychology, Neuroscience, and Speech, Language and Hearing).    The Department of Psychology at UT Dallas includes over 40 full-time faculty members committed to excellence in research and teaching. Psychology faculty are leaders in their fields who use innovative experimental, observational, and brain imaging methods to answer theoretical and applied questions about human development, aging, human neuroscience and cognition, and social behavior. Many psychology faculty have grants to support their work, actively publish their research in leading journals, and are leaders in their fields. Minimum Education and Experience

Terminal degree in the academic discipline and a record of productivity and professional achievement. Master's degree may be allowed with Provost's permission.

Doctoral degree with strong program of research. Funded or strong potential for funding.
