Description

Assistant Director for Operations and Business Development, Center for Wind Energy, The University of Texas at Dallas. Reporting to the director of the newly formed Center for Wind Energy at UTD and UTD-site director of the NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) WindSTAR, the position includes responsibilities in two general areas: management of center operations & activities and business development & member recruitment for WindSTAR.



Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in related field.
Three plus years relevant professional experience.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.



Preferred Education and Experience

Minimum Education and Experience: BS in Engineering; 3 plus years working in the renewable energy sector; experience in business development; experience in project management.
Preferred Education and Experience: MS in Engineering or MBA; 3 plus years working with a wind turbine manufacturer and/or wind farm owner and operator; experience in business development; experience in customer relations and marketing; experience in academic boards supporting academic research and/or education.

Center for Wind Energy

*Operations and project management of center activities, grants and contracts
*Coordinates communications and dissemination of center's activities and accomplishments
*Lead for outreach efforts
*Liaison with government labs
*Facilities planning and renovations for the center
*Other duties as assigned to support center's projects

WindSTAR NSF I/UCRC

*Business development
*Prospective member recruitment
*Nurturing and maintaining industry relationships
*Operations and project management oversight of the center's portfolio
*Center marketing
*Coordinating the IAB annual meeting held at UTD
*Liaison with other center sites
*NSF and IAB reporting
