USGP has an opportunity for a Radiologist to provide services to our military service members, their families, and veterans within the Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

This is a 1099 position

Qualifications:

Degree/Education (5.2.4): Graduate of an accredited College of Radiology. Be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy who has completed an internship and residency in an accredited United States Diagnostic Radiology Training Program.

Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support (5.2.3): Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Experience: Continuously employed in the practice of diagnostic radiology prior to start date of the contract as required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service- specific credentialing instructions.

Board Certification (5.2.6.4.4): Board Certified in the Specialty of Diagnostic Radiology.

Licensure/Registration: Be licensed as a medical doctor with a current valid, full, and unrestricted license in North Carolina.

Job Duties:

Perform/provide diagnostic interpretation of radiological examinations and special procedures performed by Government and contract technologists.·

Provide technical advice and professional opinions upon request of the Chief of Radiology in support of diagnostic interpretations of radiological examinations and procedures as provided in conjunction with patient care and treatment as provided by the Contractor.·

Contractor personnel shall accomplish all assigned radiology procedures in accordance with task completion time requirements as established by the Chief, Department of Radiology or his designee.·

When required, record treatment data in patient's hospital record and outpatient record of treatment. Records required in the performance of this contract shall be maintained under the administrative control of the Department of Radiology and shall be submitted in accordance with the requirements as directed by the Department of Radiology. Contract personnel are responsible for the content and correctness of all prepared and transcribed reports by reviewing and validating its contents. Validating the reports electronically affixes his/her own signature.·

Submit legible or dictate reports of the interpretation on Standard Form (SF) 519B or DA Form 4700, as needed.·

Prepare all records and reports as may be required in support of radiology services rendered and as required by the MTF's Standard Operating Procedures, Federal Law, or Army Regulation. All written reports and documentation shall be legible and shall be considered property of the Government.·

Contract radiology physicians shall interpret Plain Films of all types, including Head and Neck, Chest and Ribs, Abdomen, Spine and Pelvis, and Extremities.· Contract radiology physician shall perform and interpret Fluoroscopy Exams of all types, including Upper GI/Barium Swallow, Barium Enema, Small Bowel Follow through, Enterclysis, Other (Gall Bladder, fistulograms, etc).·

Contract radiology physician shall perform and interpret the following special procedures including Ultrasound (including obstetric ultrasound and cyst aspiration), Pyelogram, Operative Cholangiogram, Mammogram (to include needle localization), Voiding Cystourethrography, Venogram, Tomography, T-Tube Cholangiogram, Arthrogram, Hysterosalpingogram, CT Scans, MRI Exams, Mammograms, Intervention radiographic procedures (nephrostomies, CT, US or fluoroscopic guided needle aspiration/biopsies, biliary stone extractions and others).·

Contract radiology physician shall be familiar with the military medical systems rules and regulations; be aware of patient and family needs; and recommend patient referral, when appropriate, to the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services Advisor.·

Contract radiology physician shall maintain appropriate records. Contract radiology physicians shall prepare medical records and entries as prescribed by the Departments of the Army and the Patient Administrator, Womack Army Medical Center, using forms provided by the Government. Records will be prepared on all beneficiaries receiving medical care or evaluations from contract radiology physician.·

Contract radiology physician shall participate in Quality Assurance Programs. The Contract radiology physician shall take part in Department of Radiology Quality Assurance Programs as required to meet the standards of the Joint Commission.·

Contract radiology physician shall work with ancillary and administrative health care personnel; provide medical physician orders to one or more physician extenders and provide medical physician orders to one or more physician extenders and provide technical recommendations for training needs in areas of shortcomings.·

Contract radiology physician shall provide technical consultation on radiological procedures to other physicians as required.·

Contract radiology physician shall facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers in accordance with policies and regulations of the medical center.
