Position Summary:
  The University of California, Irvine School of Law is the culmination of several generations of revolutionary dreamers. The Office of Admissions and Student Financial Services is tasked with 3 major responsibilities. It oversees the Law School's pipeline initiatives. It recruits, admits, awards, and matriculates students annually into UCI Law's full-time JD program. Annually, it receives 3000+ applications for an incoming JD class consisting of 160 seats. It also provides support and resources to all the law students in the areas of billing, collections, payments, disbursements, and loan administration. Finally, it administers the UCI Law Loan Repayment Assistance Program for eligible alumni.
  Under the general direction of the Director of Admissions, the (Pipeline Programs Associate Director spearheads the law school's Pipeline initiatives. They oversee the recruitment and execution of the Pre-Law Outreach Program (POP, work/serve as UCI Law's delegate to the California Pathway to Law Initiative and the Law School's liaison to the West Coast Consortium of Law Schools. They develop and execute the implementation plans of the executed MOUs or articulated agreements signed as part of the Law School's 3+3/scholars' programs with other UCI schools OR external partners. Implementation includes working with agreement collaboration partners to recruit, market, and report/evaluate success. Pipeline initiatives increase diversity in the law school applicant pool and the legal community by demystifying legal education, increasing participants' academic competitiveness for admission to law school, and facilitating participants' entry into the profession. The incumbent oversees the initiatives' recruitment and admissions processes, develops a comprehensive strategic plan consistent with the Law School's commitment to inclusive excellence, evaluates legal issues relevant to outreach, develops marketing and publicity strategies, develops alumni and legal community networks, and is responsible for fulfilling financial planning, budgeting, and reporting requirements. The Pipeline Programs Associate Director Initiatives also participates in and executes various admissions and recruitment activities, including reviewing applications and making recommendations as a voting member of the Faculty Admissions Committee, serving as department collaboration partner on the Law Pathway to the Profession project, and representing the Law School at recruiting events. The candidate should be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, be able to manage complicated projects, and analyze data. Moreover, the candidate should demonstrate an exemplary work ethic, complex project management involving multiple stakeholders (from initiation to execution) a strong sense of initiative, discretion, sensitivity, and excellent judgment. The candidate should also demonstrate a keen interest in the identification and recruitment of a diverse and talented student body. A successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a commitment to the Law School's mission of inclusive excellence.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $73,900.00 - $85,000.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $73,900.00 - $133,700.00 (Annual Salary).

Required:  
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management including program design, implementation, and evaluation. 
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population with an ongoing commitment to growth in the changing language of diversity. 
  • Advanced and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges / universities and specifically at UC. 
  • Advanced ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions.
  • Advanced ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials. 
  • Advanced skills to develop the school's / college's strategic recruitment plans, designing outreach and recruitment programs and materials that will attract and enroll top candidates to the school / college, including students from under-represented groups. 
  • Advanced knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite including Excel. 
  • Proficiency using various databases, CRM platforms, and/or email marketing software. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational skills including high attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, to function effectively in a team and service-oriented environment.
     
Preferred:
 
  • JD degree or M.A/M.S. degree highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of UC, and the ability to interpret and communication policies and procedures to prospective students and the public. 
  • Advanced knowledge of admissions requirements for campus / school / college, including mitigating circumstances / bases for exceptions. 
  • Previous law school or graduate school admissions experience.
     
Special Conditions Required:
 
  • Ability to work some weekends throughout the year. 
  • POP operates in a series of 4-6 sequential Saturdays each semester and during the summer. 
  • Recruitment events may occur in the late afternoon/early evening or on weekends. 
  • California Driver's License required
