Position Summary: 

Infusion Pharmacy Supervisor 2 functions as a recognized expert, providing authoritative professional guidance to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians within the infusion pharmacy. Ensures institutional compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations, including but not limited to CA Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission, CDPH, CMS, and USP 795, 797, and 800 standards, and serves as the CA Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist-in-Charge. Provides direct supervision to pharmacy staff, functions as an advisor to the unit and pharmacy administration and acts as an expert in oncology/infusion drugs for patients requiring intravenous treatments. Assist patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers in selecting and using appropriate infusion therapies. The incumbent serves in an advisory role to ensure patient safety, efficacy of all therapies, appropriate use of evidenced-based information, and fosters patient responsibility for individual healthcare choices. The incumbent will develop and conduct specialized education/public information classes in service areas, as needed, and perform the daily responsibilities of procurement, compounding or processing, dispensing, patient consultation, and therapeutic intervention. The incumbent shall undertake tasks and projects to improve clinical and financial outcomes, develop policies and procedures, and participate in and support clinical research. Precepts and oversees pharmacy residents, students, and interns. The incumbent will present to pharmacy staff and other medical professionals within and outside the organization. This position is directly responsible for drug distribution for research, clinical, home, and retail pharmacy services. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy.

Salary Range: 

Annual Rate  Minimum    $123,500.00                         Midpoint               $182,700.00                         Maximum              $241,900.00

Required Qualifications:

  

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Knowledge and abilities necessary for the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position

Minimum four years of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist, or two years experience & completion of a PGY-1 Residency

Current BLS or ACLS certification

Minimum of two years' experience in an Ambulatory Infusion setting in a lead or supervisory role

Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills

Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree

CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Knowledge of the 340B drug pricing program

Successful completion of PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology

Advanced Practice Pharmacist license (APH)

Knowledge and experience using EPIC electronic health record

Working knowledge of sterile compounding, USP797/800, and non-sterile compounding, USP795
